Midway's

Race Way

1963

Go to the IPD and search on Midway 1963-1964. You'll get 9 games and 5 of them are bat games! RACEWAY and her 1964 cousin Flying Turns are unique indeed. Here we have a machine with no bumpers and metal cars which race around the track inthe back box. The trick is that magnets on the bottom of the cars are attracted and moved by a motor driven chain with magnets attached to it located under the track!

Though not very

challenging to the avid

pin player, Race Way

is simply alot of

fun to play!

the ball is propelled onto the playfield from a kicker located between the flippers. The cars are advanced up to 4 lengths by hitting bakelite targets atop the playfield. As the cars advance so does the bonus. Making either center kicker hole, or a lit outlane scores the bonus laps. there are 2 side kicker holes which score 3 lengths and 1 Lap when lit. 4 very powerful slingshots, 2 bottom pf and 2 mid pf send the ball out of control, and score a length. But then with this game the more you hit the more the cars go..go..go...
Interestingly enough, Midway produced lots of pitch and bat games during the 60's and WINNER was their pitch and Bat version of raceway!
